Hello all! Shannon here with a special invitation.

To celebrate the release of my newest book, REBEL, BRAVE AND BRUTAL, Steph, Jill, and I are going to throw an online celebration, and we wanted to invite the Go Teen Writers crowd first!

The evening will include some fun behind the scenes details about REBEL, BRAVE AND BRUTAL, and a live Q&A about all things writerly and bookish. To keep the group a manageable size, and to ensure we can interact in a meaningful way, we’ll be sending login details to anyone who purchases a copy of REBEL, BRAVE AND BRUTAL and submits their receipt to our email address.

Here’s how it’ll work.

-Prior to January 15th, purchase a copy of REBEL, BRAVE AND BRUTAL anywhere books are sold, take a picture or screenshot of the receipt or proof of purchase, and email it to GoTeenWriters@gmail.com.

-On or around January 18th, you’ll receive an email reply from us with login details, and a form to submit any questions you might have about writing, reading, or our books.

-On Saturday, January 28th at 5pm Pacific, use the login details we’ve provided and join us for a live bookish chat AND a giveaway. That’s right. At the end of the chat, we’ll do a giveaway from the pool of writers present at the event, and one lucky winner will receive a $25 gift card to either Amazon, B&N, or Book Depository.

FAQs

Q: If I submitted a receipt to claim the preorder gift, can I submit the same receipt here?

A: Absolutely!

Q: Wait! There’s a preorder gift?

A: There is, and you can learn more about it here. Please note that in order to claim the preorder gift, you must submit your receipt to an entirely different email address (brutalpreorder@gmail.com) before the book releases on January 10th. We’ve given you an additional five days to submit your receipt for the Go Teen Writers event.

THE GRIPPING SEQUEL TO WINTER, WHITE AND WICKED THAT BOASTS THE THRILLS OF MAD MAX: FURY ROAD AND THE ICY MAGIC OF FROZEN

Sylvi Quine, the best rig driver on Layce, has braved the dangers of the Shiv Road to save her friend and learned the truth of her power over Winter. Now, she’s joined the rebels working to take down the Majority. Her magic could change the course of their fight, and she agrees to meet the king of Paradyia to offer an exchange: the healing powers of the Pool of Begynd for his army.

The journey won’t be easy. To get there, Sylvi will have to navigate the Kol Sea, crossing through Winter’s storms and swarms of her Abaki—all while outrunning the Majority, who have sent their best Kol Master to track her down and bring her in, dead or alive.

But she isn’t traveling alone. Mars Dresden knows Sylvi is the key to freeing Layce, and demands she train like it. Kyn, the boy with stone flesh and a soft heart, is bound to Sylvi in more ways than one, a connection that both hurts and heals. And Lenore, Sylvi’s best friend, insists the Majority pay for what they’ve done to her parents. Even though her crew believes in her, Sylvi’s still learning to use her power, and Winter’s whispers are constant.

Will she be able to control Winter when it matters most? Or will this be the end of the rebellion?

Thanks all! I hope to see you at this Go Teen Writers event on January 28th! Please drop any questions you have here in the comments section.

Shannon Dittemore is an author and speaker. Her books include the Angel Eyes trilogy, a supernatural foray into the realm of angels and demons, as well as the fantastical adventure novel Winter, White and Wicked. Its sequel, Rebel, Brave and Brutal is due out January 10, 2023.

Shannon’s stories feature strong female leads grappling with fear and faith as they venture into the wilds of the unknown. She’s often wondered if she’s writing her own quest for bravery again and again.

It’s a choice she values highly. Bravery. And she’s never more inspired than when young people ball up their fist and punch fear in the face.

To that end, Shannon takes great joy in working with young writers, both in person and online at Go Teen Writers, an instructional blog recognized by Writer’s Digest four years running as a “101 Best Websites for Writers” selection.
