I don’t know about you all, but sometimes I will spend a lot of time whining (either in my head or to anyone who will listen) about how little time I’m getting to write. “If only I had writing time,” I’ll say.

And then writing time will get handed to me, and… Well, haven’t I been meaning to clean up my office? Shouldn’t I call and get McKenna signed up for ballet? I really should print out that recipe before I forget…

Maybe that’s why this quote struck a nerve:

Once I get my Word document open and my focus on my story, then I could write all day. It’s just pushing myself past the distractions that’s tricky.

What about you? Do you find yourself struggling to sit down and then fine once you’ve started writing? Or no?
