Jill here.

I have something special to tell you about today. My son and I have been hard at work on the second book in the RoboTales series, Mardok and the Seven Exiles. In case you don’t know about RoboTales, this is a chapter book series of fractured fairytales that I wrote with my son Luke (click here to learn more). Tinker is a retelling of the Cinderella story, but our Cinderella is a boy named Tinker who works in his uncle’s fix it shop. It’s been challenging to squeeze these books in between my deadlines, but we almost have book two ready.

To celebrate that fact, Tinker (book one) is free this week on Kindle. So if you like science fiction for young readers or know someone who might, download the book and/or share this image to help Luke and me spread the word.

The interior illustrations in the book Tinker were done by kids of all ages. We’d like to do that again for Mardok and the Seven Exiles. Rather than do a complicated contest like we did for Tinker, we’re simply putting a call out to young artists who might be interested in contributing an illustration to the book. We would instruct you on what to draw. The payment is that your illustration would appear in the book Mardok and the Seven Exiles and we would send you five print copies as a thank you. If you are an artist who is interested in doing an illustration for this book or if you know an artist, please email me through my website and let me know.

And now, it’s time for the cover reveal for Mardok and the Seven Exiles!

Drumroll please… (Scroll down to find the cover.)

What do you think? Any guess what fractured fairytale this one is?
